With a significant portion of the state covered in clouds, fog, or even a bit of rain on the night of the “Super Blood Wolf Moon”, we obsessed over the forecast almost as much as we did for the Total Solar Eclipse in August 2017!  Despite a bleak forecast for Los Angeles, the weather ended up clearing up for us before the umbra started sweeping over the Moon.  What a gorgeous eclipse it was!  We have read comments across the country of the color appearing a little more muted on this occasion, and we tend to agree.  It is sometimes a bit more red, or rusty-gold.  But this goes to show how every lunar eclipse is unique!  And we won’t have another chance to see one from California until May 26, 2021.

We had an absolute blast, as did our guests.  Thank you, Atlas Obscura and L.A. Historic Park for making this event possible!
